Buyer Guide

How to prepare a vehicle import RFQ

A vehicle name alone is not enough for a useful B2B quotation. A complete RFQ lets the sourcing team compare the correct configuration, quantity and commercial scope.

1. Identify the vehicle

  • Brand, model, trim and model year
  • New or used condition
  • BEV, PHEV, hybrid or ICE powertrain
  • Left-hand or right-hand drive
  • Required colour, interior and critical options

2. Define the purchase requirement

  • Initial quantity and expected repeat demand
  • Destination country and preferred port
  • Target delivery window
  • Preferred Incoterm, such as EXW, FOB, CFR or CIF
  • Inspection, spare parts and document requirements

3. Add destination-specific questions

Charging interface, language, homologation, registration, safety, emissions and import eligibility can differ by market. Buyers should identify which matters must be reviewed before quotation.

4. Separate required and optional items

Mark non-negotiable specifications and acceptable alternatives. This helps the team explain substitutions without confusing them with the requested configuration.

Copy this RFQ checklist

Vehicle: brand / model / trim / year / condition / energy / steering position
Order: quantity / repeat demand / colour / options
Destination: country / port / required documents
Commercial: timing / Incoterm / inspection / supporting parts
